Electric Trailer Brakes Wiring Diagram
Why do my electric brakes brake when i turn my signal on?
I have a 1977 Chevy truck. I know I wired it correctly. I have a 7 way flat plug and a diagram. I hooked it all up correctly. This is the diagram I'm using, http://www.etrailer.com/faq_wiring.aspx
When I turn my signals on, my brakes on my trailer lock on. I also have a brake controller and the controller goes up to 1.6 everything it blinks. I look at my trailer lights and and I have a very dim blinker that you can hardly see. I hit the brakes at the same time and the repetition on my blinker slows down but my brakes lights on my trailer dont go on and my running lights dont either. Can anyone help? Oh, and I'm not taking it into a shop, I'll do this myself with the help from you guys.
I have checked all my lights. The trailer is not even one year old. All the lights work on it. They work fine with my other truck and my truck rear lights also work. There arent any wires in the 7 way plug that are loose or that are touching anything else either.
With a dim light, comes a stray current draw. Check all associated grounds with a circuit tester, you'll find it I'm sure.
Hope this helped
